Lecture at Nara University of Education [Japan]
On 23rd June, Executive Director Mitsuko Otsuyama was invited to take part in a lecture series entitled “Education for Sustainable Development and Disaster Risk Reduction” coordinated by Dr. Yukihiko Oikawa at Nara University of Education. Her lecture was themed “To Stand Up Straight to What is Behind Disaster Events – Examples from Myanmar.” We believe that being exposed to experiences overseas in addition to those in Japan have made the students aware of the need to question things that are usually taken for granted, review them objectively, and extensively think about disaster risk reduction and disaster education.
