DRR video production committee [Bangladesh]
The School-based Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) project being implemented in North Dhaka has three pillars of implementation. These are – (1) DRR Education, (2) DRR Infrastructure and (3) DRR Awareness. The 3rd pillar of DRR Awareness campaign is going to be implemented through video media, primarily targeting school students. As a critical element of this pillar, a video production committee was set up last year, consisting of media professionals, DNCC officials, principals of pilot schools, and community leaders.
On September 20th, the committee met online to report on work progress and to hear inputs from the members. The main topics of discussion were how we could effectively deliver information and how each member could contribute to disseminate the video contents. As suggested by the members, the videos will be in the form of a drama, short and precise, and entertaining to watch with interactive images and music. For dissemination, it was suggested to utilize not only social media but also mass media channels to reach out more people, and to also make use of various other channels such as website of the city and community meetings.
The production is now moving forward to casting and shooting!
