Dispatch of Hyogo SDRRM Experts to Cebu [Philippines]
From 21st to 25th July, experts from Hyogo Prefectural Board of Education, particularly one official from its Secretariat Office and other from Emergency And Rescue Team by school staff in Hyogo (EARTH) visited Cebu to transfer expertise in school-based DRRM that has sustained over 24 years after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. On the 22nd and 23rd, the delegates visited Paknaan National High School and City of Bogo Science and Arts Academy, two of the project’s Pilot Schools, to observe pioneering disaster drills. On the 24th, a meeting was held with key personnel from DepEd Region VII Office and Schools Division Offices, where lectures about Hyogo Prefecture’s supports to SDRRM, and EARTH’s SDRRM initiatives as well as emergency supports to disaster-affected areas were given.
