Disaster response skill training was held in Kallyanpur community in Ward 11 which has recently joined as a new DRR community in Dhaka North City. DRR leaders and volunteers learned firefighting and basic first aid through the training. The participants also discussed what could happen at a time of disaster and how a community can better respond to it. Relationship between the ward councilor and residents is stronger in Ward 11 and the councilor spent all day with the participants in the training. He also monitored services provided by the city corporation and exchanged ideas on it with the community members.
