Mandaue City Roll Out of DRRE Project [Philippines]
Last November 30, December 1 and 2, 2017 –SEEDS Asia was invited as guest to observe the 3-day Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop at Department of Education Mandaue City Division, one of the project beneficiaries of SEEDS Asia during the first project on Disaster Risk Reduction Education. The workshop was conducted with the collaborative effort of twelve capacitated teachers headed by the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) Chief Mrs. Fay Luares of Mandaue City Division, also one of the project core team of the first project. This workshop involved the 21 DRRE Activities such as DRRE Jingle, Emergency Cooking, etc. and discussions about disaster resilience and mitigation as capacity building training for School Heads and Public School Division Supervisors. A three day fun-filled experience was gained by the participants who are also excited to pass this on to their students. The training was also attended by the Local DRRM Officer Mr. Felix Suico of Mandaue City and Bomb Expert from Mandaue City Police Office.
