Daanbantayan and Lapu-Lapu City MTG [Philippines]
On November 23 and 28 – SEEDS Asia successfully finished its coordination meetings for the Pilot School finalization and commitment support expression as well as presentation of the SDRA (School Disaster Resilience Assessment) Results with the Divisions of Cebu Province and Lapu-Lapu City, respectively.
Additionally presented were the introduction and Projects of SEEDS Asia, the roles and responsibilities as well as the support needed for the successful implementation of the current School DRRM Project. Both of the meetings were hosted by the two Divisions and graced by the presence of their respective Division representatives namely Mr. Gerardo Mantos, Physical Facilities Coordinator of Cebu Province Division and Dr. Marilyn Andales, Schools Division Superintendent of Lapu-Lapu City Division. The local government unit (LGU) DRRM Officers also attended and presented their DRRM Programs with Mr. Tilano Dublin of Daanbantayan Municipality and Mr. Sandy Martin Berame of Lapu-Lapu City. Both LGU DRRM Officers expressed their assurance of support to the SEEDS Asia Project. Representative from the barangay where the nominated Pilot School in Lapu-Lapu City is located also presented the DRRM programs with Barangay Council for DRRM Hon. Emeterio Bonghanoy. The School Heads of the nominated Pilot Schools, Mr. Generoso Monterde of Daanbantayan Central Elementary School (Cebu Province Division) formalized their acceptance as nominated teachers by doing the oath taking along with his 11 teachers to show their full commitment and Dr. Ernesto Peteluna of Marigondon National High School (Lapu-Lapu City Division) likewise expressed their commitment to the Project together with their teachers.
Present also in the meeting are schools surveyed for SDRA namely Tapilon National High School and Daanbantayan National High School of Cebu Province Division and Buaya Elementary School and Pusok Elementary School of Lapu-Lapu City Division together with their respective school heads and school DRRM Coordinators.
