October 14, Monipuripara community, one of our model communities, organized a DRR event to observe yesterday’s International Day for Disaster Reduction. Event was held at a primary school and about 100 students and their parents attended. Focusing on earthquake, the community DRR leaders taught the students what earthquake is and what they should do when it happens. A short theater on preparedness was performed by the community members, which participants enjoyed a lot. A student from Armanitola government school that SEEDS Asia conducted DRR education in its previous project also joined the event and introduced DRR activities such as family meeting and emergency bag.
