October 13, International Day for Disaster Reduction, Mohakhali Ja block society and Paikpara society organized a DRR event in their community. Mohakhali society conducted a rally aiming to make people in their area aware about earthquake risk. They told residents where to evacuate at a time of emergency and what they can do now to be prepared. Local TV news station reported the activity. Paikpara society, believing DRR should start at household, invited society members’ family and organized a get together where they discussed fire and earthquake using video clips and quiz so that the participants can enjoy and learn.
