Recognition and turning-over of DRR education project [Philippines]
The current project “Capacity Building on Disaster Risk Reduction Education through Cooperation with Local Community in Cebu Province” that began in November 2014 will end in March 2017.On February 28, Recognition and Turning-over of DRR Education Project was held in Cebu city. A total 130 participants including representative of DepEd Regional Office Vll and DRRE Core team, School Division Superintendent and Chief of Curriculum Integration of Department from 10 DepEd Divisions, School Head, SDRRM coordinator and selected teachers of respective DRRE Model and Promotion schools, and Local DRRM officers attended. In the turning-over ceremony, Mr. Yntig, representative of RO Vll declared their continuous commitment to the project in order to realize sustainable DRR Education in cooperation Local community after the project in Cebu Province. The responsibility for promoting DRRE in through cooperation with local community was completely handed over to the DepEd Region and Division as well as Local Government Unit.
