UNFCCC awards SEEDS India’s Community Based Micro Climate Resilience Project
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) announced the Momentum of Change Lighthouse Awards 2013, and SEEDS’ Community based Micro Climate Change Resilient Project was one of the 17 awarded projects from over 250 projects screened.
The Light House awards recognize those activities in developing countries which either help to curb green house gas emissions or help people adapt to climate change while at the same time benefit the urban poor.
The selected activities will be showcased at a special event during UN Climate Change Conference 2013 in Warsaw, Poland between 11th & 22nd November 2013.
The Community based Micro Climate Change Resilient Project carried out by Team Patanka, a Social Business wing of SEEDS, was developed
with an aim of helping urban poor communities in Gorakhpur,
India to adapt to climate change by designing and building new types of flood-resilient and affordable houses and public building.
