Sakura blooming in Kesennuma (Citzen’s Hall)
Shimin Kaikan (Citizen’s Hall) was used as a shelter for evacuees of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami on March 11th 2011.
On the ground of Kesennuma Junior High School, Kesennuma Library and Kesennuma Elementary School
which are located around it, there are many Sakura (Cherry trees).
Sevral years ago, these Sakura were lit up on their bloom season (latter April in Kesennuma), but these years this light-up event didn’t take place. This year, these trees were lit up again, wishing to energize affected people in Kesennuma.
