School students exchange [Tohoku/Japan]
SEEDS Asia successfully implemented a school students exchange program
from 7th to 8th August that 58 students from Environment
and Disaster Mitigation Course of Maiko High School and members
of the Junior Leaders for DRR of Hyogo carried out exchange activities
with Kesennuma students and people such as an observation of Oya Area,
an severely affected by the tsunami, with a guide of a story teller,
discussion with Oya Junior High School students on recovery and
development to make resilience against disasters,
a town watching in Sakihama District, Karakuwa Town and experience-based learning
on a local performance art of Sakihama.
Fresh opinions given by students from Hyogo made a good opportunity
for those who are engaged in recovery in Kesennuma to get an awareness and re-discovery of attraction.
