On 22nd December, a training session for the Disaster Management Committee members of Wa boet Chin boet village was organized, with the cooperation of Daw Hnin Thida, an official of Hinthada District Office of Department of Disaster Management (DDM) of Myanmar. The DDM also reported on this training session on their Facebook page.

After the training, by understanding the national disaster management protocols and mechanisms, the members are now in a position to understand what their community and individuals need to do, and reflect it in their disaster management planning for their village.

Developing a policy does not, in itself, lead people to start something immediately. Linking policies and action is a critical approach that SEEDS Asia has applied in its project activities, and this training for Wa boet Chin boet village is part of such an approach towards resiliency through interlinkages.
