Visit of Vice President of Myanmar to DRRAC! (2) [Myanmar]
Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV) broadcasted the visit of vice president to a cyclone shelter in Let Khoke Kone village on 26th June and SEEDS Asia introducing DRR activities to the vice president was also aired on the television. It said that international NGO SEEDS Asia explained objectives of DRR activity centres and activities of SEEDS Asia implemented in Myanmar. Minister of Social welfare, Relief and Resettlement explained to the vice president that Myanmar and international NGOs have worked together for DRR since Cyclone Nargis occurred in 2008. Village disaster management committee (that SEEDS Asia have supported for long) introduced the vice president about the roles of the committee. At the end, the vise president spoke about the importance of focusing on disaster preparedness and sustainably developing the cyclone shelter. Please see attached video.
