Visit of Vice President of Myanmar to DRRAC! [Myanmar]
On 26th June, Vice President of Myanmar cum Chair of National Disaster Management Committee, .H.E. Mr. Henry Van Thio, Minister of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, H.E. Dr. Win Myat Aye, DG of Relief and Resettlement Department (RRD), Dr. Ko Ko Naing, Permanent Secretary of RRD, U Soe Aung, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Major General Aung Soe and Yangon Regional Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Forest and Energy, U Han Tun visited a shelter in Let Khoke Kone village to observe DRR activities in the village.
Thanking to the coordination of RRD, SEEDS Asia had opportunity to introduce our activities to the vice president in the village DRR trainings, and DRR education materials which are being used at DRR Activity Centre (DRRAC). (The DRRAC was established Under JICA grassroots technical cooperation project in Kungyankone, Bogale and Labutta townships). Trainings of trainers have been provided for those DRR leaders in the areas of DRR education, basic fire fighting, search and rescue, first aid, psychosocial care, safe housing construction.
At the end of our activity introduction to the vice president, we expressed our appreciation for understanding and cooperation of RRD, General Administrative Office (GAD), Ministry of Education, fire service department, local DRR leaders, school teachers and all local groups for our DRR activities in Let Khoke Kone village.
