Training camp for the Japan-Mongolia Student Forum [Japan]
From 23rd to 25th September, the training camp for the “Japan-Mongolia Student Forum: We can change ourselves and our future. Let’s co-think Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)!” was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan. SEEDS Asia’s Executive Director Mitsuko Otsuyama took charge in facilitating the student group’s workshop on disaster risk reduction (13 students were in the group: four from Mongolia and nine from Japan).
It was a common topic among the students from both Mongolia and Japan that disaster information is not easily comprehensible. The group discussed how to overcome this issue and to raise awareness of society, which can be very interesting when concrete action is taken as a way forward!
The subtheme of the forum: “We can change ourselves and our future” was indeed envisioned throughout this training camp, and the 3-day camp was a first step for the international teams of the participating students to take sustainable action.
