#’Education must be ‘ESD'” by President [Myanmar]
SEEDS Asia has been implementing projects on ESD (Education for Sustainable Development)
with financial support from Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) since 2011 onwards.
In the beginning of project, everyone used to ask us “What is ESD??” but
after some years paｓt, now U Thein Sein, the President of Myanmar officially annouced the education approach in the nation needs to be based on ESD and
explained the approach in details! Thanks all for cooperating us to promote ESD especially for Kesennuma City Education Board that they provided resource
persons and opportunities for training on ESD in Japan and National Level Workshops on ESD in Myanmar. Their rich experiences on ESD and lessons from the
Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami were very valuable to promote ESD in Myanmar.
Deep appreciation again to every one for cooperating us, and this is the just a beginning.
