Extension of the Letter of Intent for technical cooperation [Myanmar]
On 23rd December, SEEDS Asia with the Federation of Myanmar Engineering Societies (Fed.MES) and Department of Disaster Management (DDM) held a ceremony celebrating the extension of the Letter of Intent (LOI) for Technical Cooperation. You may also check out DDM’s Facebook post.
Dr. U Ko Ko Naing, Director General, and other officials from the DDM joined the ceremony and expressed their gratitude to Japan for their cooperation, including SEEDS Asia’s initiatives in comprehensive school safety in Hinthada Township and tsunami awareness with UNDP. They also expressed their willingness to strengthen the partnership towards the common goal of making Myanmar more resilient to disasters.
U Aung Myint (President), U Ko Ko Gyi (Vice President), and U Kyi Lwin, of Fed.MES as well as Ms. Mitsuko Otsuyama (Executive Director), U Soe Pyae Aung and Daw Roi Htoi, of SEEDS Asia, attended the ceremony and briefed participants on the activities described in the LOI, and on initiatives that have been implemented by SEEDS Asia in Myanmar during the past 12 years.
