DRR Awareness Campaign in Sant Atulanand Convent School [India]
On 19th November, Sant Atulanand Convent School orgnanised DRR Awareness Campaign on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) with 100 members from school students, parents, teachers, society members and outreach schools. Dr. Kavita Mishra shared what she learned from the study Kyoto in 2017 and introduced how elementary students in Kyoto are cleaning the campus by themselves and plant to grow a plant for each. Additionally she showed her full achievements of her action plan which was 1) Establish of DRR Learning Corner in school, 2) Separate dustbin for wet and dry, 3) DRR education with parents and society, with the support of another in-charge teacher Mr. Arvind Giri along with full understanding of the director and the principal. We truly appreciate the efforts of the school as a team to promote DRR. Outreach schools also joined the events and SEEDS Asia introduced project video, DRR mobile application “Be-Safe” and DRR Citizen Activity Promotion Centre (DRR-CAP) which is scheduled to open on 20th December 2018 in Varanasi! We truly wish the citizens of Varanasi will continue learn and act to make the city resilient!
