Happy stories on ongoing DRR project from Counterpart [Vietnam]
Today, on June 25, an appreciation for arrangement and support on the meeting with Danang People’s Committee was conveyed to Mr. Hung, Deputy Director of DOET. He mentioned such wonderful stories as get rid of our hardships so far.
Story 1: DOET fully understands activities carried out and outputs created by SEEDS Asia. Therefore, the sustainability of DRR is regarded as needed.
Story 2: Its necessity is also reached from 7 DRR core schools: teachers who implemented DRR class, students who took DRR class and their parents who heard DRR story from their children.
*Parent 1: I heard from my child what she had learned in the class on DRR, and feel “Preparedness and mitigation against disasters is needed from ordinary time, not only at disaster coming.”
*Parent 2: Generally we keep own children under control until they grow to be adult. So far we were worried about their safety when they were stricken by disaster at school, however, now we feel relieved to know DRR education may protect them from disaster.
