SEEDS Asia worked with the UNDP as an implementing organization for its program, “Strengthening School Preparedness for Tsunamis in Asia and the Pacific,” supported by the Government of Japan. We conducted workshops and drills in 2 schools of the Yangon Region (Kungyangon Township) with over 350 student participants. Teachers also learned how to manage a large group of students in such emergency situations. We were also very happy to see the large media turnout and interest to spread awareness on this important issue.
